What we do
Through embodied therapeutic experiences in nature, we facilitate groups and individuals to improve holistic health; including psychological; physical; and emotional resilience and functioning. This naturally leads to increased capacity for joy, awe and wonder.
Who for
People who have experience of Forest Therapy as well as those who don’t have any experience at all are welcome. People experiencing physical or mental health challenges as well as those who feel well in themselves are welcome.
Where
We deliver guided Forest Therapy sessions in Bristol and the South West, UK for organisations, groups and individuals and will soon offer an online Forest Therapy service.
What is Forest Therapy and what happens in a session?
Forest Therapy & Shinrin Yoku, Forest Bathing & Forest Medicine are the same thing…
For a practice with so many names, it is essentially very simple. It’s a gentle process of slowing down and inviting ourselves to become aware of our embodied experience in relationship with nature - usually with the intention of improving our health, happiness and enjoyment.
Shinrin-yoku directly translates as forest bath, which is apt because its a whole body experience with a leaning towards sensory pleasure and delight. Scientific studies show that the health impacts are greatest when you enjoy your sensory experience of the forest - hurray!
Simple invitations to reawaken your senses and reconnect with nature are offered by a certified Forest Therapy Practitioner. Your guide keeps time for you, ensures your safety and helps you to integrate your experience after each immersion by listening to you should you wish to share any reflections.
In this way we can disconnect from the fast pace of the modern world, reconnect with ourselves and rejuvenate in restoring our connection with the natural world.
